Anyone surprised?

CNN: White House invokes executive privilege for Rove in attorney firings

Wow. What a surprise. Bush is using the laws he's sworn to uphold and protect... to find a way around the laws he's sworn to uphold and protect. Because as we all know (*cough*refusal to see reason about Iraq*cough*), in his beady little black vs white brain, the slightest HINT of cooperation or bowing to the whim of an investigation signifies him as weak, or foolish, or whatever else.

I'm sure it's because he's obsessed with his legacy, to look like a strong, forceful, unflinching president... but, that INDEED his legacy: strong, forceful, and unflinching when it comes to decisions he needs to change or alter. He may get out of pulling the troops out, but history will record who went in.

That'll be my job in 30 years.

I'd rant more, but it's humid, and I'm lazy, and I'm reminded about my what my favorite comedian Lewis Black said about reacting to what Bush and Co. pull: It gets to the point where you're too tired to get angry anymore.
