Damnit, Susan (and the 47 others)...

Hey, blinded GOP senators? Joe? It's Brad. Can we sit down and talk for a minute? Thanks.

Oh, I'm talking to a brick wall? Oh well. I'm still gonna say my peace.

Just a simple question... why?

No, seriously: Why? Why do you feel this... need to support the Party above all else when the majority of the country and common sense demands you don't? Really, can you explain this to me? I'd really like to know.

Okay, I'm gonna try not to get into the whole "you voted for the war" rant as long as you don't tell me they'll follow us home. Deal? Cool.

So, tell me... why do you feel that above everything, the Party comes first? I mean, do you have to vote for something just because Bush is perma-glued set? What if Bush decided to be dictator for life, or to invade Europe? Would you still vote for that just because Bush said so? Honestly, I'm utterly stumped here. Utterly and completely. Even if you support the war or staying, can't you at least agree that we are in DESPERATE need of changing course? I mean, look... Bush's only strategy is to throw more young men and women into that horrible maelstrom, and keep them there for half a year at best, until an IED finds them at worse.

Do you feel that's right?

Bush openly brags that even if all hell breaks loose, and everyone else on the planet Earth wants us out (including the servicemen and women in Iraq), we stay.

Do you feel that's right?

Our country is becoming a pariah. Our Army is breaking. Al Qaeda is stronger than it was before 9/11. Our debt is skyrocketing, and I (and my children) are literally going to pay for it.

Do you feel that's right?

And Bush and Cheney are so blinded by arrogance, so blinded by incompetence, and so blinded by ego, they may attack Iran. And if Israel strikes back and/or Russia gets involved and it keeps getting worse... I don't even want to think about it.

Do you feel that's right?

You don't? Too bad.

You support that... ALL of that... because you feel loyalty not to the human race, not to the United States of America and her armed forces, not to the American people, not to federal government... but to the Republican Party. And you should know that.

And if you, like Bush loves to brag, have no problem sleeping at night... I fervently hope you are voted out office, and that your party is crippled for sometime. Because you both deserve it.

We're on the Titanic of foreign policies, and the captain's steering us right into an ice field with a huge smirk on his face.

GET HIM AWAY FROM THE WHEEL, OR REVERSE THE ENGINES. NOW.

Oh, wait... the Titanic isn't the flagship of the Republican Party.

*I specify Senator Susan Collins of my former home state because although she voted to force the vote and the vast majority of Mainers want a course change, she's against the legislation. I know some people who've voted for you repeatedly in the past, and they do NOT appreciate your ignoring them. I'd be aware of that if I were you.
